Hello all you faithful members, good to see the Forum surviving.

I have not active for a few years due to ill health. My mystery illness was diagnosed in 2022 as myeloma - definitely not nice. Although in partial remission thanks to the NHS, my DIY abilities and energies have been much reduced and I am beginning to clear out my garage.

I have an Evolution 255mm sIngle sliding mitre saw with its own Evolution stand and an extra roller stand. The items ar still on sale at Screwfix and with their latest discounts, come to £265. All the kit is in very good condition having been lightly used building a temporary shed store and bit of post and rail fencing.

The Evolution blade is the Rage multi-material one and happily cuts plastic, timber, plastic and steel. Surprised me too! I also have a suitable diamond cutting wheel - good for tiles or stone, in the garage somewhere which will be include if I can find it.

Offers around £130 would secure the set, or possibly break into individual items at half price. I am in North Cornwall, near Launceston.

Thanks for reading this - Next step is eBay

			Dear forum,

I am extending our MVHR system and I need an extra run of 125mm spiral air ducting. Does anyone in the Cambs area have any leftovers from their installation sitting quietly in the garage?

Any advice where to source it?

Many thanks!

Having grown tired of regularly replacing microinverters at significant cost I have bitten the proverbial bullet and had a brand new solar PV system installed. No more technology up on the roof for me, just a simple single inverter in the garage and new 440W panels!

There was nothing wrong with the existing panels but it did not make economic sense (particularly labour cost) to remove all the existing panels/microinverters, then remount the old panels and rewire with DC cabling as new panels are so much cheaper now. So I now have a brand new system with new warranties which at my age should “see me out” as they say, hopefully until the end of the F.I.T. payments in 2031 at least!

Hence I have twenty one fully functioning 185W panels for sale. They were installed by an MCS registered company but I have no idea of their current value. Any ideas as to what I should be looking for?

Thanks.
Jeff

I bought an Itho Eco4 from a plumbing wholesaler a few years ago, it was an open-box item that they were selling on Ebay as a favour to a client of theirs - they were surplus from a small housing development (they had several of them).

The SAP database entry for it is here:

https://www.ncm-pcdb.org.uk/sap/pcdbdetails.jsp?pid=34&id=500044&type=323&mid=020014

The new model (same casing, different controls I think) is here:

https://www.ventilationland.co.uk/product/27741/itho-daalderop-mvhr-hru-350-eco-unit-lr-rft-low-rise-350m-h.html

It turned out I couldn't quite squeeze it in because of a combination of my house's boiler positioning, and the fact that it turned out to be a different duct position variant than I thought I'd bought (what was on the listing and what was written on the box).

I've checked it over fully and it's in new condition (with factory packaging), and works correctly.

I suspect that the housing developer had bought the wrong duct port position version for their installs, tried to fit it, failed, then ordered another set of the correct install versions, and bunged the first lot back in the boxes for the second lot.

New sensible trade cost was about £900 inc VAT I think.

I've since made my own custom through-the-wall MVHR unit myself to fit in the tight space I had.

Located in Brighton, but happy for you to arrange courier collection (I suspect about £50 - bulky but light).

Open to offers.

A 300 litre all-copper vented thermal store manufactured by the Newark Copper Cylinder Company, Newark. U.K. It has its own built in F&E tank at the top. It has two immersion heaters (both working) and it is insulated with approx 25mm of foam. It has seven pockets for attaching thermocouples.

Approx overall dimensions are: Ht: 1900 mm Diam: 550 mm.

I will upload a photo and a key to connections as separate files.

The store has three coils: a 12 metre finned coil, two concentric 6 metre finned coils (total length 12 metres) and one solar coil.

It was used in conjunction with a biomass (wood pellet) boiler and solar thermal panels and supplied (indirect) a conventional wet central heating system.

From new it was dosed with Fernox AF10 biocide to prevent microbiological growth. After decommissioning the store contents were tested for Legionella by a professional laboratory and no Legionella organisms were detected. A certificate for this is available.

Due to its size and weight the store would need to be collected by the intended purchaser. It does have the facility to attach a suitable hook to the floor of the F&E chamber for lifting purposes.

For sale: offers around £600.

After 7 years renovating our cottage and heating both it and our hot water with logs and solar, we've put in a ground source system so this setup is for sale.

Dunsley Yorkshire Multifuel Boiler Stove, with external air kit.
Newark/Enerstore multifuel 300l thermal store.

The stove is amazing, has it's own adjustable thermostat so its fire up and forget, other than for loading logs. It's very clean burning, our chimney sweep always commented on how little dirt there was when they swept it.

The thermal store has two 3kw high temperature immersion heaters, tappings for hot water and radiator circuit along with coils for a heat pump and woodburning stove . There are three additional thermometer pockets so you can see the temperatures at the top, middle and bottom of the store.

Collection only from near Barnstaple, North Devon. The stove is extremely heavy but is on a pallet and I have the ability to load it onto a trailer etc. This system has worked like a charm providing 100% of our hot water along with our solar PV and diverter for the past 7 years and a major chunk of our home heating.

£2000 for both or £1700 for the stove and £500 for the store.

This Grant Vortex boiler is around 10yrs old. It is 1 15-21kW model. I replaced it with a heat pump 2yrs ago and it has been unused since - it was in perfect working order when I removed it but it hasn't been fired up since.

I don't think it will be worth much money so happy for it to go to someone who needs to keep plodding along with oil until they can get a heat pump. Might just ask for a donation to charity.

I'll try and attach some pictures.

edit: It is in Stroud

I have a small quantity of reclaimed 12mm solid Ash T&G. It's previously been clear spray lacquered but obviously could be painted or rubbed down and re-finished. It had been secret pinned,- now removed, so hardly any damage apart from the odd bottom groove pin hole which will cover when laid. It'd be ideal for good quality below dado panelling.
Whisper me if you're interested and I'll measure up how many linear metres etc..
I'm in N. Yorkshire.
